Transplant +1,598: Normal!

Well, very close to normal – as close as I’ve been in five years. Latest blood test results show normal neutrophils (2.04), haemoglobin (148), platelets (159) and lymphocytes > 1.0. My total white blood count is still somewhat low at 3.39 (normal range is 4.5 – 11), but it’s a huge improvement from a year ago.

I felt normal enough to tackle the so-called ‘moderate’ walk at Craflwyn a couple of weeks ago. When I see ‘moderate’ advised on a National Trust walking route, I expect a gentle stroll with a cafe at the end. This one involved walking up paths that had turned into waterfalls and near vertical climbs. No cafe. I hate to think what the strenuous walk is like. But the views were stunning.

I even managed a very weakly positive antibody response to my 6th Covid-19 vaccine (8.2U/mL on the Roche S assay). Fingers firmly crossed that the next booster pushes it into better territory still.

Maybe the strenuous walk won’t be totally out of the question next time.
